As the old adage says, they may break your bones, but thanks to Cori Craciun’s store, Sticks and Stones Collection, they’ll also look great as part of your home décor.
The 1,500-plus-square-foot store on Shirley Street opened just 10 months ago and has already secured its spot as the go-to place for one-of-a-kind wood accents and furnishings as well as statement making gems and minerals sure to add a glint of nature to any home.
Ms. Craciun left her native Transylvania and moved to Naples where she and her sister ran a Romanian/Hungarian/ Italian restaurant for several years. While on vacation in New England, she discovered her love of stone and wood.
“In Rockport (Maine) I found all of these beautiful pebbles on the beach. I thought they were gorgeous, and I started picking them up,” says Ms. Craciun. “Then we went up into the woods and I started picking up more rocks. I ended up coming home with 50 pounds of rocks in my backpacks. Then I started going to mines and got in with a group of rock hounds.”
