Owner Cori Craciun opened Sticks and Stones Collection in the fall of 2018. Originally from Transylavania, Romania, Cori immigrated to Hungary, in 1990 right after the fall of the communist regime, and has been living in the US since 1999. Growing up her passion was playing sports and eventually settled for soccer which she played at semi-pro level all the way until her move to Naples. In 2000 she started the first amateur women soccer league in Collier County.
Sticks and Stones Collection was born from Cori’s love for the outdoors, the forests and the mountains she grew up with in Transylvania. Her passion for rocks and minerals started while visiting Rockport, Maine where she fell in love with the rocks on the beach bringing back to Naples a backpack full. From that moment on, picking up rocks was a given on any trip as she turned into die-hard rockhound. A search for the right piece of driftwood to mount one of the stones onto allowed Cori to expand her vision and so Sticks And Stones Collection was born. The woods, rocks and minerals in the gallery are handpicked by Cori and come from all over the world. Some as raw material, some already put together by very talented local artisans with Cori having the final touch into their journey to becoming a stunning decor piece or a functional piece of furniture. By opening the gallery Cori wishes not only to share her love of nature but to help people connect with it by inviting them to bring the beauty of nature into their home. Nature helps us not only relieve stress and anxiety, it brings calm and warmth into our home. She feels our connection to nature is essential to our well being.
